The Senate has confirmed the nomination of Bernard Doro as a minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

President Bola Tinubu had nominated Doro as a replacement for Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, who recently emerged as national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in July.

Senate President Godswill Akpabio put the nomination to a voice vote, and it was unanimously approved by the lawmakers after Doro answered questions from senators.

While addressing the Senate, Doro said he would prioritize transparency and efficiency in humanitarian service delivery.

He also promised to strengthen collaboration among government agencies to eliminate duplication and improve outcomes.

Speaking after the confirmation, Akpabio congratulated Doro for his performance before the Senate.

“I wish you well, and I congratulate Mr President for searching for our sons and finding them wherever they are to bring them into the service of the nation,” he said.
