Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, OFR, has reassured residents and stakeholders that security remains the number one priority of his administration, describing it as the foundation upon which development and prosperity can thrive.
Speaking at the Aba Stakeholders Security Trust Fund Raising Luncheon held at the Aba Sports Club, Governor Otti expressed gratitude to the Aba business community, friends of Abia, and other stakeholders who have continued to stand firmly behind his government in the quest to rebuild Abia.
The Governor made it clear that every single donation to the Security Trust Fund would be fully accounted for, stressing that his administration will not bow to unfounded propaganda aimed at discrediting his achievements. He reaffirmed that Abia’s resources are safe, secured, and transparently managed for the collective good of the people.
Governor Otti further disclosed that his administration has signed an agreement with Radisson Blu for the redevelopment of the Enyimba Hotel, assuring that work would commence immediately.
In what many described as a major milestone, the Governor announced that the newly reconstructed Port Harcourt Road in Aba will be officially commissioned on October 3rd, 2025, alongside six other completed roads, by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Beyond infrastructure, Governor Otti encouraged Abia residents to participate actively in the ongoing continuous voter registration (CVR) exercise across the country, noting that it was the only way they could shape the outcome of the 2027 general elections.
Chairman of the occasion, Chief Leo Okoye, applauded Governor Otti for his transformational strides in road infrastructure, security, and the revival of water schemes across the state.
Other business leaders and stakeholders, including Ide John Udeagbala, Mazi Jude Nwosu, and a representative of Owelle Greg Okafor, praised Otti’s pragmatic leadership and explained that the fundraising event was organized by the Aba business community to reaffirm their support for the Governor, especially in the critical area of security.
They clarified that the Aba stakeholders were not adequately represented during the first Security Trust Fund luncheon held in Umuahia in July, hence the need to host a dedicated session in Aba.
With Otti’s assurances and the business community’s strong backing, stakeholders say the commercial hub of Aba is on course to regain its lost glory as the heartbeat of trade and industry in Nigeria.
