You cannot stop me from visiting Edo, I will visit anytime I wish – Obi dares Okpebholo
Former Governor of Anambra State and the 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Mr. Peter Obi has told Governor Monday Okpebholo that he will visit Edo State anytime he wants.
Reacting to the recent threat issued against him by the Edo Governor Okpebholo, warning him not to visit Edo State without clearance, the former Anambra Governor dismissed the directive boasted that nobody can stop him from visiting Edo State whenever he wished.
Mr. Obi who spoke in an interview with newsmen when he visited his Alma mater at the Christ The King College (CKC), Onitsha, Anambra State on Thursday to present financial assistance, in collaboration with some fellow Old Boys of the school, advised Governor Okpebholo to rather compliment his efforts in supporting public institutions instead of threatening him.
The former Labour Party Presidential Candidate who donated N50million to the management of the college on behalf of the old boys to support the management, said he is used to receiving threats.
“I’m used to receiving threats. I will go to Edo any time I want.
“I am not afraid of visiting any state in Nigeria, particularly when the purpose is to support causes that contribute to nation building, such as education, health, and poverty alleviation,” the former LP Presidential Candidate insisted
The former Anambra State governor, received at the church by the Archbishop of the Onitsha Ecclesiastical Province, His Grace, Most Reverend Valerian Okeke, management and students of the college, commended the management of the school for the excellent job they were doing.
In his speech, the Archbishop of Onitsha, Most Rev. Valerian Okeke, who lauded the former Anambra State Governor for determination towards building a new Nigeria commended Obi and the Old Boys for their commitment to education and nation-building.
Baring his mind, the Senior Prefect of the school, Master Ejike Ekene, described Mr. Obi, as a role model and an inspiration to students and prayed to God to bless him.
