We will give Abians an airport they shall be proud of – Gov Otti

The Abia state Government says it is currently building an Airport city that will form the nucleus of the business ecosystem of the south East zone of Nigeria.

Abia Governor, Dr Alex Otti who disclised this while receiving in audience a delegation of the Sky Master Group,a private Aviation industry that resented a proposal to partner the state government in providing Aviation services in the Abia Airport City.

While pointing out that the construction of the Abia Airport runaway is progressing, the Governor reiterated his administration’s resolve to build an international Airport that all well meaning Abia and Nigeria will be proud of.

He observed that most services the company intends to offer are already incorporated in the Abia Airport and assured the investor that the state government’s technical team will further engage them to deepen discussions on some technical areas contained in their presentation.

Explaining their reasons for the visit, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Skymaster Aviation Services Company Prince William Ogbonna, said that the visit is in line with the company’s plans to partner the state government in providing Air services including domestic services at the new Abia Airport.

Prince Ogbonna made public that the company is at present providing Aviation services and other Aviation related operations in Port Harcourt and Lagos states respectively, said the company is equally providing similar operations to Milan, Italy.

“We are going to be partnering with the state government on a public partnership agreement. One: to provide air service, Air service if they want, domestically but we are targeting the regional flight operations into Abia,” Prince Ogbonna stated.

According to him, the company will be be utilizing airports around such as Port Harcourt and Owerri airports as to be able to build the traffic that Abia requires to service their airport.
