Two Ghanaian Ministers, six others die in helicopter crash
Two Ghanaian Ministers on board a helicopter for a national assignment in Ghana have died in a crash.
According to a government spokesperson, Ministers of Defence and Environment along with six other people, were involved in the crash that happened in the Ashanti region, along with six other people.
The Ghana Armed Forces said the aircraft, which had taken off from the capital, Accra, at 09:12 local time (and GMT) and was heading to the gold-mining town of Obuasi for a national event was carrying three crew and five passengers went “off the radar”.
Meanwhile, the Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah, who addressed the nation, has directed the country’s flags to fly at half-mast.
