… Team Bourdex vows total support for Governor Alex Otti’s second term and endorses Chief David Ogba Onuoha (Bourdex) for Abia North Senatorial race after a strategic meeting in Umuahia.
In what has been described as a defining political gathering ahead of 2027, Team Bourdex held a crucial meeting on Friday, October 4, 2025 at the country home Bourdex in Abiriba, attended by delegates from the five Local Government Areas of Abia North — Bende, Arochukwu, Ohafia, Isuikwuato, and Umunneochi.
The meeting, which drew over 200 committed political stakeholders, was a show of unity, strategy, and renewed political direction for the future of Abia North and the entire Abia State.
Speaking during the event, Chief David Ogba Onuoha Bourdex, a renowned industrialist and political leader, emphasized that the re-election of Governor Alex Chioma Otti, OFR, in 2027 should be the first and most important political assignment for every well-meaning Abian.
According to Bourdex, Governor Otti’s performance in less than two years has redefined governance in the state and restored hope to the people.
“If Governor Otti can achieve what he has done within just two years, imagine what he will achieve in eight years. Otti is God-sent to Abia people,” Bourdex declared to thunderous applause.
He referenced President Bola Tinubu’s visit to Abia State on October 3, 2025, during which several projects were commissioned, including key roads that were once described as swamps before Otti’s intervention.

Bourdex praised the governor’s transformation of Port Harcourt Road and other infrastructure projects across the state, describing them as evidence of purposeful leadership that deserves continuity.
“My first priority, and that of everyone here, should be to ensure that Otti returns in 2027. Abia cannot afford to derail from this new direction,” he stated firmly.
Beyond the governorship race, Bourdex urged his supporters to also ensure that credible and visionary candidates are elected into the House of Assembly, House of Representatives, and the Senate to consolidate the gains of good governance.
On the Abia North Senatorial Seat, Chief Bourdex acknowledged the contributions of Senator Orji Uzor Kalu but insisted that it is time for a new chapter.
“Senator Orji Kalu has tried his best, but the time for change has come. Just as Otti brought light to Abia, a new representation in the Senate will bring a new dawn for Abia North,” he noted.
In a dramatic turn during the meeting, all delegates from the five LGAs unanimously endorsed Chief David Ogba Onuoha (Bourdex) to contest for the Abia North Senatorial Seat in 2027, pledging their total support to his ambition.
Chief Bourdex, after receiving the endorsement, formally accepted the call to serve, declaring that his aspiration is for the people and powered by their collective resolve.
“I am running for you, for Abia North, and for the progress of our people. As long as you stand with me, victory is sure,” he assured.
The delegates, visibly elated, pledged unwavering loyalty to both Governor Alex Otti and Team Bourdex, promising to mobilize across wards and communities for the success of the movement in 2027.
