FULL LIST: Federal Hospitals With Reduced Dialysis Costs In Nigeria —Presidency

President Bola Tinubu has approved a reduction in the cost of kidney dialysis from ₦50,000 to ₦12,000 in federal hospitals across Nigeria.

The announcement was made on Monday by the Special Adviser to the President on Policy Information, Daniel Bwala, who disclosed the development via his official X handle.

According to him, the subsidy is already being implemented in major federal medical centres and teaching hospitals across the six geopolitical zones.

Below is a list of federal hospitals where these services can be accessed

1. Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Ebute-Metta, Lagos

3. University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan, Oyo State

4 . Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Owerri, Imo State

6. Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Abeokuta, Ogun State

7. Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH), Lagos

Bwala indicated that more federal medical centers and teaching hospitals will be included in the program before the end of the year, further expanding access for kidney patients across the country.

He said the move underscored President Tinubu’s commitment to prioritizing healthcare and easing its financial burden on citizens.

This reduction in dialysis cost is part of broader healthcare reforms by the Tinubu administration, which also include initiatives such as establishing oncology and diagnostic facilities, retraining 120,000 frontline Health workers, redesigning the Basic Health Care Provision Fund (BHCPF) to enhance access to primary healthcare, and approving free Caesarean sections for vulnerable pregnant women in federal hospitals.
