Former President, Buhari, is dead

The immediate past President of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari has passed on at the age of 82, just a few days after his spokesperson Garba Shehu expressed confidence on his recovery.

According to a statement, released this Sunday by Garba Shehu, the former president passed on to the great beyond at a clinic in London earlier today.

“The family of the former president has announced the passing of Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, this afternoon in a clinic in London.
May Allah accept him into Al-Jannah Firdaus. Amin,” Shehu said in the statement.

Known for his strict observance of discipline and modesty, Buhari led Nigeria from 31 December, 1983 to 27 August 1985 as military Head of State and was elected elected president that served full two terms from 29 May, 2015 to 29 May, 2023.
