Delta Unveils Monthly Stipend, Free Healthcare for 10,000 Widows

Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State has unveiled a Widows Welfare Scheme to support 10,000 widows with monthly stipends and free healthcare.

Each beneficiary will receive ₦15,000 monthly, with an initial payment of ₦45,000 covering three months in arrears. The widows will also be enrolled in the Delta State Contributory Health Insurance Scheme for free medical care at accredited facilities.

Oborevwori said the initiative, part of his MORE Agenda, aims to ease the burden of widowhood and provide hope for the vulnerable. He emphasized that the scheme is non-political, with beneficiaries selected transparently across 270 wards.
